Sunday, our Sabbath.

A Day To Rest

What are your Sundays like?
Are they any different than the rest of your days?
Are Sundays hard work and no pay? or hard work and with some pay?
Are Sundays your day to do all those undone chores?
Is your Sunday the end of a long & busy week  or the beginning of one?

If you haven't rested come Sunday, "no worries" that's what Sunday is for!
Did you know God your creator set apart a day for rest? From the onset of creation the Sabbath was a day for us to be refreshed and revitalized so that we could continue in dominion.
Of course, the sin of disobedince and the flood of sin that follows to this day, put a kink in our dominion. Thankfully Jesus who is perfect and without sin, makes a way for dominion again, if we accept his offer of rest.

Rest: peace, ease or refreshment resulting from sleep or the cessation of an activity

As you ponder this definition of rest do you see your life at rest on Sunday? Any part of Sunday?
Peace: Not worried or anxious about things in your life, prayerfully leaving things in Gods capable hands.
Ease: All difficulties and burdens set aside. A time of relaxing in a nap or chilling by the fireplace with a good book . The dishes or the unbalanced checkbook can wait.
Refreshment: A good prayerful conversation with Jesus, giving him all your burdens.  Latte with my girlfriends and good conversation. A leisurely walk or bike ride, not focused on exercise, but aiming to be refreshed. Quiet time with my husband, just because, the work week is over and we can rest together on Sunday.

Go rest in peace on this side of heaven. Accept the gift of the Sabbath and know that God did it so that we could be on top of our game the rest of the days.
