A simple call

.
                                                       8:30 appointment

Such a simple act that can was such a blessing to both of us.

Taking care of our elderly father is getting more and more difficult, especially when all of his 8 children are in other towns & states. As the months go by he is more and more fragile.  He desperately wants to be at home, we desperately want to help him stay there but as his age creeps up on him we dispair as to his well being.  See Dad is 90 yrs. old.  He uses a walker now, he's hard of hearing, and a few of the other ailments that come with old age are showing up now.
We come and help and provide all we can, he has caregivers for his basic needs, he has nurses that check on him, he has a wife that calls when things happen, this is all to help him keep his place in his home.
The other day my sister asked me to set a reminder on my phone so that I could call dad @ exactly 8:30 pm to check on him. See another struggle for Dad is with remembering things.

I did do the reminder that day and since I've done it, it rings every night @ 8:30pm, usually I dismiss it but last night I decided to call him.  After a quick conversation with him, it sparked a rest inside of me and put a smile on my face because I could tell he was genuinely glad to hear my voice.
I was glad for the 8:30 reminder
