Rest

This is the place we come to when we need rest. 

We've had a busy summer, busy busy working on summer activities; the beach, the pool and social times for my boys and for us. All the while we were working hard to get to New Hampshire! Then we drove out, exhausted ourselves with a 2 1/2 day drive to start our rest?!  driving across the country, experiencing the differences in atmosphere as we entered another state.

Where I come from were busy.  Busy with activity and as soon as September hits were busier still! So every other year we trek our way east and get a much needed vacation.  A real vacation, no amusement parks, no shopping, no city lights...

Its how they do it here in Jaffrey. Swimming at the pond, reading a great book, hiking a mountain (or my husband did that), nice walks, enjoying our east coast relatives, reviewing history and practicing all that good cooking I'm always rushed about at home.  It took me some time to wrap my brain around this kinda rest!  and still after a few days we say were rested, we say were ready for all the busyness....we miss our chaos.  

Jaffrey, it's a good place to rest.  a good place to regroup in....more than 20 years has convinced me that this is the way to rest.  Get away from the city, from the schedule and enjoy the quietness of  a small town....
