These two verses in the old testament tell an incredible story about faith and hope and joy.
"2Kings5:2-3 "Now the Syrians on one of their raids had carried off a little maid from the land of Israel, and she waited on Naaman wife. And she said to her mistress would that my Lord were with the prophet who is in Samaria. He would cure him of his leprosy"
Here is a young maiden who's whole life was destroyed by the wicked Syrian Army. Ripped away from all that she knew and loved and forced to be a slave in a foreign land.
This doesn't sound very hopeful for the young girl huh? The hope is seen in her choices.
She chose to love God despite her bleak circumstances. The joy is imagined in the outcome of her masters healing. And her faith is broadcasted into the foreign lands where is was dragged to. She could not keep silent about The God of Israel and his incredible healing power.
'child of God' are you in a terrible place?
Are there yet a few embers of the fire in your faith?
does light shine in the dark crevices of your trial?
Stand like the Little Maid of Israel then!
