How many times has that been done? And how many projects are left half way?
What makes us leave things for later? I have a good many reasons for not doing, or not
finishing a thing. Hows this for starters; no time. Then, there's no money. But IF, those
reasons (excuses) happen to not be the issue, then there are the jello-y, sticky reasons of no
motivation and no vision or fear.
Maybe there's a study out there that explains the lack of a "certain something" in our
brain is
what is causing our unfinished business. I have many good reasons why I put off my To Do
List or the long term project, or the dreaded chore, totally legit....but they are in the end
excuses; procrastinating excuses....
Here are some suggestions I found from a few successful people; They are keeping that
Procrastination Pimp out of their personal success!
"I just put a timer for 25 minutes and start doing only one task."-Michael Sliwinski
"I asked myself what activities I need to do each week to get to my goals and designed a weekly schedule around that."-Darren Rowse
"Only letting the tasks into your system that you know you want to do or absolutely have to do is the first step to making sure you don’t put them off."-Erik Fisher
“We procrastinate when we don’t have a strict schedule to adhere to".-John Lee Dumas
“The first and most crucial step is to get to the root of why I’m procrastinating. I may be scared of doing something outside my comfort zone"-Lori Deschene
"Eliminating distractions is the key to staying productive, if you can get rid of them you win.”-Liam Martin
"The hardest part of anything is starting, and 9 times out of 10 if I start I can carry myself through and get a lot done." -Sean Ogle
“Procrastination is always a sign that something deeper is at play. So rather than address top-level hacks and methods, I always go deeper to why the project matters. Look for the why before you look for the how because where there’s a strong why, there’s a simple how. (Simple ≠ easy)”-Charlie Gilkey
